Match Report vs. Dartmouth College
Saturday 10/18/2025
Fairfield 14 – Dartmouth 43

We came into this game with belief in ourselves and confidence in our plan. Unfortunately,
we met an immoveable force in Dartmouth; specifically, Dartmouth's forwards. They
controlled their set pieces and put ours under immense pressure. Because of this, we tried
to play too much in our end because we were starved of possession.
Despite the lopsided score, the boys stayed in the fight. Archer Fenton '29 scored towards
the end of the first half, and Henry Novicki '26 converted to bring the score to 19-7
Dartmouth. Yet again, Dartmouth scored almost immediately after to take the momentum
going into halftime.
In the second half, our backline showed some brilliance: Patrick McHale '27 and Ian
Thomson '27 showed their chemistry dating back to their high school years on the edges,
Novicki and Shane Baffa '25, MBA '26 stayed committed to chasing kicks and attacking
Dartmouth's line at pace. Novicki scored a try and converted it to make the score more
respectable.
Men's A-side falls to 4-2 in conference play. Will 2 games remaining (Harvard on 10/24 and
AIC on 10/31) we look to rebound against Harvard and keep our playoff hopes alive!

B-side Match Report vs. Dartmouth B
Fairfield B 36 – Dartmouth B 38

This game was punch and counter punch; one team would score, and then the other would
respond almost immediately after. Ryan Pena '29 scored 2 tries, Tyshawn Henderson '28
Owen Saya '29, and Dezie Udeagha, MBA '27 scored a try each. Myles Horkan '28
converted 3 of the 6 tries.
Credit to this group as they were down 2 scores with about 90 seconds left. They scored in
the corner, but not quickly enough as there was no time for the restart.

D3 vs. Dartmouth C
Fairfield D3 24 – Dartmouth C 10

Jack Cucinotta '28 had a breakout game for the Stags: scoring a try and suffocating
Dartmouth's scrumhalf all game!
Brennan Baker '26, Nick Fietze '27, and Chase Wingate '29 logged tries of their own. Jack
Secaur '29 converted 2 of the 4 tries.
Credit to this group for adjusting to the New Paltz forfeit and playing with such passion
despite being at the field for several hours cheering on their mates.
