Women's Lax Falls Short with Shortened Time

The Fairfield Women's Club Lacrosse team came up short against Binghamton University by a score of 6-2 on Sunday, October 27th at Rafferty Stadium. Binghamton came out of the gate aggressive, jumping out to a 3-0 lead early in the first quarter from a series of backdoor cuts. Despite a slow start, the Stag offensive front came alive towards the end of the first, cutting the deficit to 3-2 thanks to goals by junior attack Mairead Kelly and sophomore attack Kacey McGorry. However, this success would be short lived, as the intricate aerial attack from Binghamton proved to be too much for the Fairfield defense, allowing three more goals total. With the game being shortened to two quarters due to the scheduled double header, the Stags found themselves on the wrong side of the clock, trying to make up for lost time with some encouraging surges down the field that just didn't find the back of the net. Despite the loss, there were some plays to build off of for the Stags, as they look to right their wrongs on November 3rd at home against Fordham.
