Accumulating the seniors Fairfield rugby experience, they expressed their love for the team and
the sport. A common theme that they all mentioned is that this team is their family, their best
friends. They share many meals together, bachelor watch nights, and bonding together. The
seniors have enjoyed all of the time that they have spent together and want to finish off the
season on a high note and win as much as they can because "Winning is fun," as they said.
Brigid Muller
"I personally have found my best friends in this sport. I was going through it freshman year and
then I joined this team and have found my best friends in this sport....... We are always bonding
on and off the field.... Being ranked number four in the nation for D2 women's rugby is a great
place to be with my best friends."
Serena Koshy
"This team has provided me with a really good outlet for stress...... I always wanted that family
aspect that I had from high school sports. We do almost everything together, we have meals
together and hang out together, it truly feels like a family."
Kayla Fox
"We just recently started recruiting more. Considering the fact that we are just getting our foot in
the water with recruiting and are ranked number 4, says a lot about the team culture and
athleticism......We just genuinely like to have fun and put the hard work in."
Nicole Reynolds
"When I first joined the team, one challenge that I had was balancing rugby, academics, and
work. But it has definitely been worth it....I have been able to create a lot of connections with
people outside of Fairfield through rugby."
Alyssa Bruno
"We hope to make it as far as we can and we definitely have some high hopes... Traveling with
the team is always so much fun for us and we get to meet so many new people."
Veronica Mcadams
"It was a challenge to put myself out there when I just started but I got myself into it and do not
regret it at all.....This team is like family to me."
Maggie Kelly
"I would say this team is very supportive... There are a lot of perceptions of a women's rugby
player, but I overcame that and came to the first day and have loved it ever since."
Julia Demetropoulos
"At first it was tough to balance my rugby friends and other friends because I have spent so
much time with this team. But this team has helped me to learn how to balance and I have met
some of my best friends on this team."
Hannah Bershefsky
"This team has made my time here at Fairfield so great and I have loved every minute of it. I am
looking forward to the rest of the season and how far we can go."
