On a cloudy Sunday the lady Stags headed to "The Farm" to play Vassar College. Vassar started off the match with their trademark Poughkeepsie python. The Stages continuously put-up valiant efforts but Vassar was able to maintain possession by playing a tight 8-player game. Vassar's strong offensive play and solid defense, which kept Fairfield at bay for most of the match preventing them from playing their style of rugby.
? First Half: Vassar College took an early lead with a series of well-coordinated tries which were the result of their continuous pick and goes with formidable rucks.
? Second Half: Fairfield managed to score a try, showing resilience and determination with scrum half Kate Robertson '26 diving for a try under the post from Vassar's 5-meter line. Vassar continued to control the game, adding more points to their tally and securing the win.
Despite the loss, the team showed great spirit and fought hard throughout the match. Notable performances came from
Ashley O'Connor '25,
Serena Koshy '25, and Tia Stanton '26, who displayed solid play and contributed significantly to Fairfield's efforts. The ladies chalked the loss up as a learning experience and vowed to play Vassar on their own terms when they play Vassar in 2 weeks on Grauert field.
B Match

Sunday saw the first scheduled B Side match in quite some time. New players, mostly first-years, took the field against a more experienced Vassar B-side. With less than 2 weeks of practice the rookies were keen to take the field. Led by seniors
Julia Demetropoulos '25 and
Nicole Reynolds '25 the rookies showed exceptional athleticism, especially in their tackling ability. Several players show exceptional play;
Grace Eberl '28 who has played several A-side matches already, Jill Koppy '28, Emily Ariel '28, Izzy Antoinette '28, Erin Detlefsen '28, Lydia La Natra '28, and Hailey Fales '27.
