The Stags Men's Club Lacrosse team defeated rival Fordham University 16-6 on Sunday, March 17. The team did not skip a beat in their first game since February 20, scoring 2 goals within the first few minutes of action. After securing an early lead, the Stags never looked back.
The Rams had a very difficult time against the Stags attack all day long. The scoring was led by
Danny Mallee, who finished with 3 goals and 2 assists, and Arinze Nzeako, with 3 goals and 1 assist. Other point scorers included Harry Griff,
Andrew Epifania,
Zander Ritson-Parsons, Matt Guagliano,
Thomas Raleigh,
Henry Brown, and Mikey Beil. The Stags got major contributions far beyond the attack, though, with
Pierangelo Bonda-Riva going 18/21 at the face-off. The dominant defensive effort was led by
Marco Falcone,
Colin Richards, Drew Lanius, and
Rob Doster.
The Stags came into the season at #8 in the National College Lacrosse League Division 1 pre-season rankings and will look to solidify their spot with a doubleheader next weekend, taking on Sacred Heart and Providence on Sunday.
