The Fairfield University Men's Club Lacrosse team took care of business in commanding fashion Sunday afternoon, defeating Fordham 10-2 at Rafferty Stadium. After falling to the Rams last year, the Stags came out with a clear message stating that this year would be different.

Fairfield struck early, with #43 breaking through his defender and firing home the game's first goal. Minutes later, #33 capitalized on a Fordham turnover in the slot to make it 2-0. Goaltender Teddy O'Keefe (#73) set the tone on the back end, making several key saves to keep the Rams off the board through the first quarter. The Stags took a 3-0 lead thanks to a goal from #29 off a beautiful cross-field pass from #2, but Fordham responded with two quick goals to close the gap to 3-2 at halftime.

The Stags came out strong in the second half, regaining full control of the game. #2 found the back of the net to make it 4–2, followed by goals from #35, #9, and another from #35 which would end up being his second of the day, as Fairfield pulled away 7–2 by the end of the third. The Stags didn't let up, adding three more in the final frame with one of those goals being a top-corner rocket and a slick finish in front off a feed from #26, sealing the 10-2 victory.

After the game, goalie Teddy O'Keefe credited the team's chemistry for the dominant performance saying "Both sides of the ball came to play today, and our team chemistry really played a big role in the win." Teammate James McDermott highlighted the team's growth and preparation leading into the matchup by mentioning: "We've been working on our stick skills and ball possession, and we really executed that today. Our offense played our game, and the defense played their hearts out."

The Stags now look to carry their momentum into their next matchup on October 26 at home against UConn, as they continue what looks to be a successful season.
